Kiran Rao is Aamir Khan’s new bride
Finally, renowned actor Aamir Khan has decided to marry his girlfriend - assistant director Kiran Rao!!
The love story started on the sets of the movie - Lagaan, which created a landmark in Bollywood. Both Aamir and Kiran were living together for over two years.
Rumours are rife all over again that Aamir Khan is likely to marry his long-time girlfriend Kiran Rao in a month once the ’shraadh’ period is over.
There is also talk that he may marry her by the end of this year. Either way he is likely to get hooked (or re-hooked) this year.
Aamir got married to a Hindu girl - Reena at the age of 21. But apparently, there was opposition since she was from a Hindu family and he, from a devout Islamic one. So, they eloped, got married and returned to their homes.
Reena even appears in the song "Papa Kehte Hain" in the smashit movie “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”, with which Aamir began his acting career.
Both of them got divorced in Dec 2002 and presently Aamir’s two children, Junaid and Ira, are with Reena.
Recently an unconfirmed report regarding Aamir’s another child with his ex-girlfriend, English writer Jessica Hines - Jaan Harry Hines created a storm in Bollywood.
Aamir was awarded Padma Bhushan for the year 2003 by the Government of India.
Aamir’s last movie “Mangal Pandey - The Rising” was commercially flopped at the box-office. His next two scheduled releases are “Rang De Basanti” and “Mr. Mehta and Mrs. Singh”.
